Continuous Footing Calculator

Calculate a continuous strip footing by total run, width and depth.

Enter your project details

Each dimension can use its own unit—for example feet for length and inches for thickness. Package counts are rounded up.

Formula and calculation steps

Cubic yards = total run × footing width × depth ÷ 27
  1. Use total run: 10 ft.
  2. Multiply by width and depth, then divide by 27.
  3. Add 10% allowance.

Worked example

For a perimeter footing, enter the total linear run from the plan—not just one wall length.

How to use this calculator

  1. Measure the total footing run from the plan.
  2. Enter footing width and depth.
  3. Review concrete volume with waste before ordering.

Example: For a perimeter footing, enter the total linear run from the plan—not just one wall length.

Questions about this calculator

Should I enter one wall or the full perimeter?

Enter the full linear run of the continuous footing so corners are not double-counted incorrectly.

Is rebar included?

No. This tool estimates concrete volume only; reinforcement is specified separately on the drawings.

Can I use mixed units?

Yes. Choose feet, inches, metres or centimetres and the calculator converts each input before calculating.

Is this a final material order?

No. Confirm drawings, product coverage, local code and site conditions before buying or building.
